Two Wins for Rooboys

Coorparoo finished Sub-District Cricket Round 2 with two wins and a loss in their one-dayers, while the A1s lost their opening round two-day game.


The B2s defeated Bracken Ridge by 63 runs at McPherson Park (oval 1). Batting first, Coorparoo made 218, with half-centuries for Manoj Kumar (62) and Amandeep Thatai (57), and Kumar and Thatai compiled 109 for the third wicket. Five bowlers took one wicket each as Bracken Ridge made 6/155 in 35 overs.


The C1s defeated Gold Crest by six wickets at Brisbane State High Sports Complex (oval 2). Manish Pal took 4/27 and Charlie Wilkinson 2/11 as Gold Crest were dismissed for 82 in 26.2 overs, while captain Liam Fogarty took three catches. Samuel Cotter made 43 not out as Coorparoo (4/83) reached the target in 18.4 overs.


The C2s lost by 228 runs to Moggill at Col Westaway Oval. Chasing Moggill's 6/348 (Rahul Mahadik 2/30, Shubham Sood 2/55), Coorparoo was dismissed for 120 (David Miller 33, Jason McIntosh 30 not out, Sood 24).


The A1s lost on first innings against Gold Crest at Finsbury Park. Chasing 161, Coorparoo made 150 (Tom Cameron 58, Xavier McCluskey 29 not out). Liam Lanza (3/18), McCluskey (3/34), and Kristan Haikal (3/49) took nine wickets between them in Gold Crest's first innings. Batting again, Gold Crest was dismissed for 99 (Haikal 4/20, McCluskey 2/25, Lanza 2/29), setting Coorparoo 111 to win. Coorparoo reached 2/53 in 6.5 overs (Jason van Buuren 29).


Sub-District Round 3 begins next Saturday, with all four teams playing limited-overs games (Round 2 for the A1s).
